DeKalb County Board Policy dictates that employees adhere to State Board Policies as well as State and Federal Laws, which include copyright.

Who is accountable when copyright is violated?
Teachers, media specialists, administrators, school board members can all be held accountable. All equipment in a school is considered “supervised,” therefore, if it is used to violate copyright law we may all be held responsible.
Why is copyright and fair use important to educators?
It is important to understand copyright and fair use
1) to avoid legal action, and
2) because it is our job to model responsible behavior to our students.
